Measles was eliminated in the US by 2020. Texas had an outbreak last year with 2289 confirmed cases. They’re up to 2900 cases this year. The right-wing readily laps up all the misinformation it spews.

Probably time to change the oil.

It depends on who writes the regulations. Today money writes the regs and people pay the price. Take money out of politics. But all three branches are captured. Anything that resembles returning power to the people is derided as socialism. So the result is power over the people.

Looks the same? Should be fine.

uh oh

Then after realizing my mistake and connecting the correct EPS connector I lost an additional 3 drives trying to test if the backplane was still ok.

Double uh oh.

Take over Scotland and Wales?

Very droll.

"The school curriculum in England is the responsibility of the Westminster Government. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are responsible for setting their own curriculum policies."

^^^ case in point.

At what age does the homework kick in for kids growing up in Asia?

Speaking for China specifically, and this is all word of mouth since my kids are at a posh international school (apply hate appriopriately):

Elementary school is 8-5, longish day but not too bad on homework.

Middle school (grades 6-9) there's been a recent drive to have less homework so they stay till only 7:00 (!) doing it at school and only a little take home done between dinner and bed.

High school is your life revolves around homework, everyone realizes it's counterproductive to learning but they're all stuck in this trap grinding for the big exams that will shape the rest of your life. Key word neijuan.

Actual Chinese (and other asian countries) can chime in where I'm mistaken.

Differencing? wot?

say with "finite" before it. it's a thing

Facebook/Meta happily hires GOP operatives and has done so for years.

Have you hit the end of the internet? I mostly have. This thread though is pretty decent.

Let's say that what I need today is found outside of the Internet, but my brain has been wired to find an escape from reality online, and it's become a very unhealthy coping mechanism.
