I desperately hope he's right. And I have no doubt medium-sized companies will prevail.

But this article fails to explain how AI will create jobs for the many millions in transportation, food retail, cashiers, factory workers and other low-income jobs.

The future looks bleak: https://www.visualcapitalist.com/visualizing-jobs-lost-autom...

I hope UBI could be the solution.

"Blame is not for failure, it is for failing to help or ask for help." It changes everything. Usually attributed to the CEO of The Lego Group, Jorgen Vig Knudstorp.

Cool, got anything to show? :)

As far as the game? Sure I got a blog over here => http://ripplega.me/development/month-development-feb-08/ If you meant the map specifically, at a high level I haven't changed the algorithm (yet) so you can check out an overview of my current one here: http://ripplega.me/development/month-development-may-10/

The blog itself hasn't been updated it in a while as I've been in the midst of some pretty serious rewrites/refactors over the past several months. Since that post I've rewritten the game in TypeScript, rewritten the core engine to use the ECS (Entity Component System) pattern, and right now am actually in the midst of a rewrite of pretty much the whole game. Hence I mentioned the rewrite of the mapgen code, the first version of which was probably written 2 years ago hehe. I had a huge amount of features built up over 2 years (idealogically similar to DF in that regard heh) but realized I needed to pare down the feature set to get an alpha out so people could play. It's also allowing me to address some fundamental flaws that the engine built up over the past year or two. So that's the point where I'm at now.

Feel free to sub to the mailing list if you'd like to know about any updates and when the game comes to fruition you'll be notified ;)

...and up again. They never mentioned the downtime yesterday anywhere which is a bad sign.

If you really think that, you need to need to study more marketing and usability. No offence intended.

Consoles are usually marketed around games, especially exclusives. If this is a standard PC it won't have any and will be around twice the price of any other console.

This business will fail even though the idea to improve the chargeback process is a good one (for both merchants and customers).

Most customers don't know what a chargeback is. Those who do will never find your site. Only if you sell your service to the credit card companies will this work.

That seems to be how BillGuard (a site that seems to have a similar purpose) is attempting to play this: to provide a service to users, but really attempt to get the ear of banks as a value-add to their online offerings.

Just a clever new name for affiliate marketing.
